Ex board resigned and will not return Office Equipment?

Our HOA board resigned. We purchased office equipment for HOA use. Our ex-board made many decisions without getting approval from home owners. The ex- president stated that he loaned the HOA $4,800. He never told anyone about the loans that he made to the HOA or ever got anyone involved in his donations or decitions. He decided that he would keep the office equipment and withhold HOA funds until he is reimbursed for the money that he “loaned the HOA”. He is also a convicted felon. Does he have this right? There are many questioanable withdrawels on our bank statements. PLEASE HELP!!! ASAP

contact the police, the office equipment is stolen property. He doesn’t have the right to seize property without a court order. If he did in fact make loans there should be a paper trail for example the bank statements.

Hire an auditor perhaps.
