What is the shelf life of copy machine toner?

I have sealed packages of toner for a copy machine, and wanted to know how long they could “sit” before they went bad, because I have toner, but no machine, so I figured I’d sell them, but I want to know they’re okay to use before I sell them and have someone purchase something that is useless or dried up.

2 years if it is unopened
6 months if the packaging is open and exposed to room air
